Turkey announces nationwide lockdown due to new wave of corona virus
According to Turkish media, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan chaired a three-hour long cabinet meeting in which tough decisions were taken including lockdown due to increasing cases of corona virus in the country.
According to the report, a complete lockdown has been decided for the whole of Turkey from April 29 to May 17 (20 days). President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that all businesses and markets will be completely closed for 20 days.
According to the Turkish President, public transport between cities will be able to carry passengers with 50% capacity, all kinds of unnecessary travel has been banned. The Turkish government has asked people to get prior permission from the government before traveling.
The situation of corona virus has become very serious all over the world including Turkey. The number of corona cases is increasing day by day. A new wave of corona virus has started affecting people of all ages.
According to figures released on WorldOmetrics.info, 339 people have died and more than 40,000 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in Turkey.
